Today is our Abigail Mae's 5th birthday! I can't believe our baby is 5! She has had a great day so far, we had her cheerleader party which was a big success, (more pictures to come).I was rather impressed with myself over the handouts we gave out. You'll see they are little cheerleader skirt candy bags. That was a fun project with the girls. Abbey's job was to put the candy in.
In honor of her birthday I thought I'd share a little about her. We liked 2 names for Abbey. Lauren or Abigail. We polled friends and family, and most liked Abbey. Then when I was 7 or 8 months pregnant, we went out to eat at Bennigans. As we were reading the stories on the menu, the word "Abbey" was used, obviously in reference to a place where nun's live. I just loved the "e" in there. Plus, the Beatle's Abbey Road. Anyhoo, I thought it would be funny to give her a totally Catholic name. So my vote was Abbey Grace. But, Jim really liked the name "Mae" and even came up with the spelling. I thought it was great and super cute. I was even more happy that Jim picked a name that wasn't totally disgusting that we could actually use. So therefore Abigail Mae Binns it was. Labor with her is a testament that Castor oil truly works! It was fast and furious, and left me with no desire to ever do that again!! Both of my last two kids were accidental Natural births! Not because I wanted them that way, although having had one natural birth already, I figured why not? maybe it will go by faster. Sometimes faster is truly not better. But nevertheless, we made it through, and we have our beautiful little Abbey!
How time flies though, she will be starting kindergarten this fall... That is truly unbelievable!

Happy Birthday Abbey! The picture of her as a newborn is so cute. Cute little fat cheeks. Looks like a fun party. Elise is the only girl in the world who hates HIgh School musical and Hannah Montana...oh well! She would love the cheerleading though!
